Blog

If you love LARP as much as we do, you spend a good amount of time perusing the internet for awesome LARP content. We are talking endless hours spent watching everything from how-tos for items you will never craft, to battlefield footage that may or may not have been shot with a potato. Every once in a while a web series pops up and you watch the episodes over and over in agony patiently wait for the next installment. Doesn’t matter-you can’t get enough. We at LARPing.org are all about connecting you with resources to enrich your LARPing experience, which is why we love sharing quality content to feed your addiction.

Especially if it’s about us.

When we learned one of our favorite Youtube personalities was making a web series about her character for our Voyage North trip this year, we got a little excited. Okay, a lot excited. Our staff works hard to help US and international LARPers experience the largest North American LARP and it’s so encouraging to see this level of involvement…before she even arrives on site! (Players, take note of this initiative).

The She, being none other than the amazingly talented Mo Mo O’ Brien.

When Mo Mo O’Brien and friends announced they would be joining us this summer, we knew we were along for a whirlwind ride, but this is some next level stuff.

Her new web series, “The Reba Rapscallions” will chronicle her character, Saga, as she and her friends journey out of Reba and to our camp at Bicolline. We can’t wait to meet them!

Oh and yes, we are already shipping.

free shipping

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel our free shipping option, until further notice. We started our Larp Shop a year ago with the goal of bringing the best gear available to the community at affordable prices. After we partnered with Epic Armoury and Lederkraft one of the first things we decided to do was to offer free shipping for orders over $200. Our hope was that people would group together to make larger orders and offset the price of shipping. And this worked for some people, it was great and we were glad to have that available for folks.

However, we have to remove it for the time being because things have gotten more expensive on our end. Our hope is that we’ll soon be able to offer free shipping again!

How Can You Help?

Glad you asked! The main thing you can do is shop with us, instead of those other big guys (you know, our competitors…) You see, we’re invested in the larp community. We always have been and always will be all about larp, and nothing else. The more we’re able to sell in our shop, the more we’re able to invest in creating a great community, producing great content and bringing other great services to the larp community!

Oh, and order some awesome stuff before the clock strikes Midnight on December 31st!

Silver Lining?

This is really a bummer right before Christmas! You better say something to cheer me up! Yeah, we feel the same way. The good news is that we’re going to be carrying a lot of great, new brands and gear to our shop! Well tell us what it is already!? Well, we’re not quite ready to do that, but we can show you this picture as a hint….

Kaza Ayersman, better known to many as “Larp Girl” is one of the preeminent voices on larp in the United States. For nearly the last decade her videos on Youtube have inspired countless individuals from all across the globe to learn about live action role playing, find out about incredible new games taking place and further to attend their first event.

In addition to that Kaza is truly one of the kindest, humblest and most wonderful people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Her enthusiasm is a constant encouragement to me and many others. Her love of larp knows know bounds.

Larp Girl has tirelessly promoted the popularity of larp and it is in that spirit that we want to thank her for her long and hard work. As anyone who has worked creatively over the years you know that it takes time, effort, and lots of monetary investment to create the things you do. If you would be so inclined, please consider donating to her patreon via the link below.

Below is a sample of her work, but we would encourage you, if you’ve found this article by googling “Larp Girl” or browsing Larping.org to support her on her Patreon here.

Bicolline, which you can join her at each year via The Voyage North:

And her most popular video, “Shopping for Larp Gear”:

Thank you Kaza, for your contributions to the larp community!
