Welcome to another blog in a series about the making of Treasure Trapped. To start off with, I would like to bring you up-to-date with all the goings-on with Treasure Trapped. But first, here’s a taste of what the documentary will be like:

Approximately half the film has been shot already. Treasure Trapped has taken the crew all over England so far, visiting such places as Durham, Lindisfarne Mead Winery and the Wasteland UK LARP system. This is to name but a few! If you would like to catch up on previous blog posts written by the wonderful Nick Peel, click here. When the midway point was reached, we decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign to secure extra funding. After a month of hard fundraising and with four minutes remaining (cutting it fine!), we managed to reach our target! It is all thanks to you that we can finish our documentary. We are eternally grateful! After a celebratory mead bath, we raised our swords and gingerly touched our tips as a symbolic gesture to all our Kickstarter backers. We permitted our director Alex to have a sleep, because he had been awake for 72 hours solid on the front line of Twitter and Facebook. With a little recuperation time under our belts, we dusted ourselves down, and got back to work!

What have we been up to since our Kickstarter success then? Well, first up was a trip to Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. This is apparently the original site of LARP in the United Kingdom, so we were super excited to go. Once we had some footage in the can, then it was off to Denmark to visit a school that teaches through LARP! Happy to be visiting the happiest country in the world. I mean how could we not be? Post Denmark, we have an epic battle to shoot. This is set to be the most difficult thing to create, so we are little apprehensive, but mostly excited. There might even be a few special guests appearing…

So what will this blog include going forward? Well, I am about to lay out the plans so get ready. This blog will have:
  • Insights into our organisation and planning (there’s method behind the madness!)
  • Special features; starting with ‘What does our team know about Denmark?’
  • Interviews with the crew!
  • Behind the scenes video footage
  •  Photographs of everything and anything (no nudes!) (Okay, some nudes!)
  • and much much more!
  • and more!

So, buckle your seat belt, Dorothy, ‘cause Kansas is going bye-bye! Keep your eyes peeled for the next blog post!
